Institute of Science Tokyo (brand name: Science Tokyo) is a national university established on October 1, 2024 through the merger of Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) and the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech).
Although the English name contains the word "Institute," it does not refer to a single research institute. Institute of Science Tokyo is a comprehensive national university spanning medicine, dentistry, and the life sciences through to science and engineering. A major strength is that it combines the medical fields (formerly Tokyo Medical and Dental University) with the science and engineering fields (formerly the Tokyo Institute of Technology).
Our laboratory belongs to the following two organizations within Institute of Science Tokyo:
